Beats Monday at home

Some cool pictures of our area . . .

After a very windy Sunday night, we woke to a beautiful, sunny morning.  We decided to spend the day investigating a few swimming holes around the island.  Our first stop was just a few minutes from our place.  It was a warm lake that had a great rock in the middle.  The boys had a great time swimming out to the rock to hang out. Then after a little lunch break it was back out to Long Pond. They boys spent some time swimming out to a dock and jumping off.  Lots of fun.

After the swimming, we decided we would catch the sunset whale watch cruise.  After a quick dash to Bar Harbor, we were informed that the cruise was canceled due to fog and rough waters.  Instead, we did the walk from Bar Harbor to Bar Island.  This walk can only be done during low tide, it is completely under water during high tide.  Because of this, there's lots of good tide pool searching to be done.  We took our time on our walk watching the fog roll in. searching for treasures in the tide pools and building a rock sculpture on the island.

Finally to end the day, we picked up a few new friends to join us for dinner.  YUMMY!
