Day 1

2014 Family vacation has started off awesome!  Flew into Bangor ME via Laguardia NY landing at about 8 pm.  Stayed in Bangor at the Holiday Inn, was perfect for a bunch of tired travelers (perfect that it was situated next to the Duncan Donuts - Awesome breakfast for Saturday morning).

Got up early (that is I got up early, 6 am) and went for a run while the rest of us got some rest.  By 9:30 we were on the road to Bar Harbor.  Cool drive, not too bad on the traffic (we were expecting a log jam by everything we were told).  

First thing to cross off, get our visitors pass and Junior Ranger stuff for Acadia national park.  Next was get to the top of Cadillac Mountain (no, we didn't drive up in a Cadillac as Devin wanted).  Awesome views, and gave us a good sense of what we are about to enjoy for the next 9 days :-)

Of course we had to get down to Bar Harbor and look through a bunch of shops (Owen and Devin both needed new shades (and a bunch of other things) and mom and dad got nothing)

then off to Stewman's for some Lobster . . ..

maybe one of the funniest moments happened just before Owen was going to eat this guy, you'll love Owen's reaction to the Lobster's aggressive nature :-)
